He was reading to me the Sunday ‘Funnies’, as we called them in our family. It was the comic section of the Sunday newspaper and I loved it thinking, ‘wow, a whole part of the paper in color no less and just for kids’. I stray, sorry. He said to me, “There is one thing and one thing only I hope you remember for your whole life long. Valuable things are worth hard work but hard work is the valuable thing.” Marriage falls into that category in my estimation. If you wrap the hard work into a colorful wrapping of a good sence of humor and humility you will smooth out many, many of it’s bumps and ruts. Sounds like you are both well equipped with a good sense of humor.
